Novalia is likely the only Czech law firm whose partners in Prague include a licensed American attorney – Bill Finney.

Bill, an American lawyer who has been based in Prague for many years, serves as a unique bridge for foreign companies, investors, and creditors entering Central Europe, particularly in matters of financing, acquisitions, and business development. In the opposite direction, Bill helps local startups expand abroad through venture capital, intellectual property protection, and by supporting their potential exits to U.S. corporations. He advises numerous technology companies, including those active in artificial intelligence, hardware and software for virtual reality, web technologies, and various software products and services. Bill also represents many clients from the English-speaking expat community in Prague in a wide range of commercial matters.

Bill brings more than twenty years of experience, including many successful seasons spent at major international law firms in Prague.

He is a member of the Washington State Bar Association in the United States and is registered with the Czech Bar Association as a foreign attorney. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the University of Virginia and a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
